Sony pulls Cyberpunk 2077 from PlayStation Store

December 18, 2020 by Gary Collinson

Following the disastrous launch of Cyberpunk 2077, Sony has taken the unprecedented step of removing the CD Projekt Red’s long-awaited video game from the PlayStation Store, as well as offering a full refund to gamers dissatisfied with their purchase.

“Sony Interactive Entertainment strives to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction, therefore we will begin to offer a full refund for all gamers who have purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store,” reads the official statement from Sony.

While Cyberpunk 2077 scored decent reviews from critics, the game launched riddled with glitches and bugs, particularly on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, with many describing the game as “unplayable” on these consoles.

CD Projekt Red responded to the shambolic launch, apologising for issues and admitting that “we should have paid more attention to making it play better on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.” The developer has promised to fix the various bugs and issues and encouraged unhappy players to contact retailers for refunds if they remained dissatisfied.
