Sony sets release dates for The Emoji Movie and Peter Rabbit, delays animated Spider-Man film

December 22, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Sony Pictures Animation has announced release dates for three of its upcoming projects, with The Emoji Movie set to land on August 11th 2017, followed by Peter Rabbit on March 23rd 2018 and the animated Spider-Man feature on December 21st 2018.

The Spider-Man movie – which will be based on a treatment by The LEGO Movie’s Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who are also producing – had previously been slated for a summer 2018 release.

Perhaps Sony is looking to move it as far away as possible from Lord and Miller’s other 2018 movie, the Han Solo Star Wars spinoff…?
