Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse hit by another delay

July 19, 2025 by Ricky Church

The much anticipated Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse has been delayed again, yet only slightly this time as Sony has moved it from the start to the end of June 2027.

The film was set to release June 4th, 2027 after having already been delayed for three years due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes of 2023 among other issues, but it will now be released on June 25th, 2027. This delay is only to get maximum exposure for its release as schools will end for the summer at that time, allowing for more young fans to flock to the theatres during the day, along with a more appealing international release and a better window for IMAX screens, according to Spider-Verse producer Chris Miller.

The release will come four years after Into the Spider-Verse sequel Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse, which was originally billed as ‘Part One’ with Beyond as ‘Part Two’. Across The Spider-Verse ended on a huge cliffhanger with Miles Morales trapped in another universe at the hands of his apparently evil counterpart while Spider-Gwen rounded up their allies to find him and confront The Spot before he destroys the multiverse. Just a couple months ago the first batch of photos for the film were released, which you can check out here.

Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson are directing Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse, which is based on a script by Phil Lord, Chris Miller and David Callaham. Voice actors Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld are set to return for the Sony sequel.

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse hits theaters on June 25, 2027.
