With a theatrical trailer set to land in the early hours of the morning, advance ticket sales for Star Wars: The Force Awakens got underway in the UK this morning, and unsurprisingly the demand is huge, with the film setting a record for the fastest selling advance ticket sales of 2015.

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set to be the family blockbuster of the year,” said a spokesperson for Vue Cinemas. “We sold 10,000 tickets in the first 90 minutes of being on sale this morning – the biggest 1st hour of advance ticket sales seen so far this year when it would normally take a matter of weeks for advance sales to reach this level. Our customers continue to purchase online with ease and at the speed of light.”

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set for release on December 17th in the UK and December 18th in the States and sees J.J.
