Starpoint Gemini Warlords – Update 2.0 now available

April 24, 2018 by Andrew Newton

Iceberg Interactive and LGM Games have announced that the major 2.0 update for their acclaimed space sim Starpoint Gemini Warlords is now available.  This latest update features a redesign of the diplomacy features and a deep engine optimisation that allows for a more improved gameplay experience.  To celebrate the release of this major new update there is a Starpoint Gemini Warlords sale currently running on Steam until 29th April with discounts ranging from 25% to 80%.  There’s also a brand new trailer to accompany the update which we have for you below…

Update 2.0 for Starpoint Gemini Warlords has overhauled the diplomacy feature of the game and include multiple scenario AI reactions for the player’s infrastructure development and research progress such as war declaration, resource support, war threats and peace pleads.

Other features of this update include:

  • AI faction self triggered interaction
  • AI faction alliance requests/Factions want you to attack other factions
  • Engine optimization
  • GPU related crash issues fixed
  • Minor memory leak issues fixed
  • Script system performance drain issue optimized
  • Several mod issues fixed
  • Improved mod related issues event logging
  • A.I. Factions will attack player on Declaration of War.
  • Linking/Hacking satellites will trigger faction reactions

“Starpoint Gemini Warlords is a great game on its own, although players always wanted to have more abilities and more options when it comes to diplomacy with the other factions. That is why we wanted to do a complete diplomacy overhaul for the game, from the ground up. Of course, this isn’t something that happens overnight. Diplomacy overhaul was a lengthy process. We had to break things apart, put a lot of updates and fixes in the middle, and put them back together to make everything work as intended,” said Nikola Jukic, lead script and project manager for Starpoint Gemini Warlords 2.0 Update.
