First teaser trailer for David Cronenberg’s The Shrouds starring Vincent Cassel

May 14, 2024 by Amie Cranswick

Last week we got a first look at David Cronenberg’s The Shrouds with three clips ahead of its world premiere at Cannes, and now a trailer has debuted for the legendary filmmaker’s latest.

The film stars Vincent Cassel as Karsh, a business man grieving the death of his wife, who creates a controversial technology that allows mourning loved ones to view the departed decomposing in their shrouds, but after the graves in the state-of-the-art cemetery are vandalized he sets out to uncover the perpetrators while re-evaluating his own life. Watch the trailer below…

“Karsh, an innovative businessman and grieving widower, builds a device to connect with the dead inside a burial shroud. Installed at his own controversial state-of-the-art cemetery, the device enables him and his clients to watch their departed loved ones decompose in real time. Karsh’s revolutionary business is on the verge of breaking into the international mainstream when several graves within his cemetery, including that of his wife, are vandalized and nearly destroyed. While he struggles to uncover a clear motive for the attack, the mystery of who wrought this havoc, and why, drives him to re-evaluate his business, marriage, and fidelity to his late wife’s memory, and pushes him to new beginnings.”

Featuring in the cast of The Shrouds are Vincent Cassel, Diane Kruger, Guy Pearce, and Sandrine Holt.
