Terminator Genisys to get the IMAX treatment

Paramount Pictures has announced that director Alan Taylor’s (Thor: The Dark World) upcoming Terminator “reset” Terminator Genisys will receive the IMAX treatment when it arrives in theaters this summer.

“We are so proud of the world we have built in Terminator Genisys and are thrilled that audiences will be able to experience the film in IMAX and IMAX 3D,” states producer David Ellison. “The IMAX experience is the most immersive film experience in the world, and I am thrilled that fans of the franchise and newcomers alike will be able to experience the film in this premium format.”

“This film marks IMAX’s first foray into the Terminator franchise and we’re thrilled to be a part of it and team up once again with Alan Taylor and our friends at Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions,” adds Greg Foster, Senior Executive Vice President, IMAX Corp. and CEO of IMAX Entertainment. “We believe it’s going to be a gangbusters summer at the movies, and Terminator Genisys is sure to be one of the season’s most anticipated movies for IMAX fans worldwide.

Terminator: Genisys is set for release on July 1st 2015 with Arnold Schwarzenegger leading a cast that also includes Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Jason Clarke (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Jai Courtney (Suicide Squad), Matt Smith (Doctor Who), J.K. Simmons (Whiplash), Courtney B. Vance (Law & Order: Criminal Intent), Byung-hun Lee (G.I. Joe: Retaliation), Dayo Okeniyi (The Hunger Games), Michael Gladis (Mad Men), Sandrine Holt (House of Cards) and Douglas Smith (Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters).
