The Boys creator says Season 3 premiere has “craziest thing anyone’s ever done”

June 28, 2021 by EJ Moreno

The Boys on Amazon Prime is constantly pushing the boundaries. The first two seasons are jam-packed with some insane moments, and it seems like the upcoming third season will go even further.

Series creator Eric Kripke opened to Deadline about The Boys’ prospects of landing an Emmy nomination, during which he teased the craziness to come in the season three opener.

“Without giving away any spoilers, I was just in editing yesterday, and we’re doing something here in the season 3 premiere that is not only I think the craziest thing we’ve ever done, it’s got to be up there with the craziest thing anyone’s ever done,” Kripke tells Deadline. “Maybe it won’t work. Who knows? But I’m just so high on this gag that we’re pulling off. And it’s certainly something nobody has ever seen before, probably for good reason. So all that’s really exciting.”

While Season 3 of The Boys will reportedly adapt the comic’s infamous “Herogasm” storyline, Kripke revealed that it would be the sixth episode of the third season. So expect the premiere and the sith episode to have some “WTF moments.”

New additions to The Boys Season 3 include Laurie Holden (The Walking Dead) as Crimson Countess, Jensen Ackles (Supernatural) as Soldier Boy, Katia Winter (Sleepy Hollow) as Little Nina, Sean Patrick Flanery (Dexter) as Gunpowder, Nick Wechsler (Revenge) as Blue Hawk, and Miles Gaston Villanueva (Law & Order: True Crime: —The Menendez Murders) as Supersonic.

Expected returnees include Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Tomer Capon, Laz Alonso, Karen Fukuhara, Antony Starr, Dominique McElligott, Erin Moriarty, Jessie Usher, Nathan Mitchell, Chace Crawford, Claudia Doumit, Colby Minifie, and Giancarlo Esposito.
