The Boys prequel Vought Rising shares first look at original Supes

August 14, 2025 by Ricky Church

While the fifth and final season of The Boys continues its production, Prime Video has released a batch of first look images from the prequel series Vought Rising starring Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy, which will delve into the origins of Vought and the first generation of superheroes in the franchise.

Vought Rising is “a twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought in the 1950s, the early exploits of Soldier Boy, and the diabolical maneuvers of a Supe known to fans as Stormfront, who was then going by the name Clara Vought.”

The images show Ackles as Soldier Boy, Mason Dye as Bombsight, Will Hochman as Torpedo and Elizabeth Posey as Private Angel. The series will also see Aya Cash reprise her Boys role as Stormfront alongside newcomers KiKi Layne, Jorden Myrie, Nicolò Pasetti, Ricky Staffieri and Brian J. Smith.

Vought Rising is the second spin-off series of The Boys after Gen V which focuses on the younger generation of Supes taking place concurrently with the main series. The second season of Gen V will premiere on September 17th while the final season of The Boys will arrive in 2026.

Vought Rising is being showrun and executive produced by Paul Grellong with The Boys creator also executive producing. The Boys‘ Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg as well as Ackles and Cash will also serve as executive producers for the prequel.
