The CW has no plans to revisit abandoned Wonder Woman prequel series Amazon

August 4, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Way back when Gal Gadot’s Amazon Princess was just a twinkle in Zack Snyder’s eye, The CW made an attempt to bring Wonder Woman back to the small screen with a prequel series entitled Amazon.

Ultimately, the network decided not to move forward with the project, focussing instead on expanding the Arrowverse with The Flash, and now during the Television Critics Association press tour, CW chief Mark Pedowitz has confirmed that there are no plans to revisit the potential series given the enormous success of this year’s Wonder Woman movie.

The CW does of course have plenty of opportunities to introduce Wonder Woman, with the network airing the DC shows Supergirl, The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Arrow, as well as the upcoming Black Lightning. However, don’t be surprised if Wonder Woman remains out of bounds, as with the other two members of the Trinity.
