The Fantastic Four: First Steps leaked set photo reveals The Thing first look

As filming on Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps continues, we now have our very first look at the brand new design for The Thing, with leaked set photos and video offering a first-look at Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s take on Ben Grimm in his rock form.

The leaks suggest that Marvel will be going down the practical route, similar to Michael Chiklis’ portrayal in Fox’s Fantastic Four and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, although its unclear at this point whether it’s Moss-Bachrach performing on set in the suit. It’s also worth noting this could simply by an on-set stand-in which will be replaced by a digital version in post-production. Nevertheless, as you can see for yourself here, Marvel certainly looks to be going for a very comic accurate design, which will surely delight fans…

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is being directed by Matt Shakman (WandaVision) and will star Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing and Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, along with Julia Garner as Shalla-Bal/Silver Surfer, Ralph Ineson as Galactus, and Paul Walter Hauser and John Malkovich in as yet-unrevealed roles.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is set for release on July 25, 2025.
