The Garbage Pail Kids Movie receiving Collector’s Edition Blu-ray Media Book release

April 20, 2024 by Amie Cranswick

Capelight Pictures and Altitude have announced a new 3-Disc Limited Collector’s Edition Media Book Blu-ray release of the 1987 cult classic The Garbage Pail Kids Movie, the infamous live-action adaptation of the iconic 80s trading cards. Set to arrive in May, you can check out the cover artwork and official details below…

Meet the Garbage Pail Kids: Nat Nerd, Messy Tessie, Greaser Greg, Windy Winston, Foul Phil, Valerie Vomit and Ali Gator! They look as strange as their names and have come all the way from outer space to land their garbage can rocket straight into Captain Manzini’s antique shop. There they befriend the orphan boy Dodger, who helps out in the store and could really use the support of the seven trash can children. But his new friends show him that true beauty comes from within and that the journey of growing up can sometimes be pretty disgusting.

Directed by Rod Amateau, The Garbage Pail Kids Movie stars Mackenzie Astin, Anthony Newley, Katie Barberi, Phil Fondacaro, Debbie Lee Carrington, Kevin Thompson, Larry Green, Susan Rossitto and Arturo Gil.

The Mediabook includes the film on Blu-ray (for the first time) and DVD, a 24-page booklet with a text by Marco Heiter. Special features include the documentary “30 Years of Garbage: The Garbage Pail Kids Story”, released for the first time in the UK as well as interviews with cast and crew.
