The Northman red band trailer promises blood, brutality, and naked volcano fights

If you know anything about Robert Eggers’ new film, The Northman, you know it plans to offer up brutal Viking drama. The new epic from the director behind The Witch and The Lighthouse has already won over critics and audiences, but the latest trailer will likely bring in those bloodthirsty horror hounds.

In the official red band trailer for The Northman, we get a better look at the brutality on display in the film. From Alexander Skarsgård’s impressive fight scenes to the film’s epic scope, you can’t deny this feels like a must-see big-screen experience.

Throw in the added violence and wild third act and you’ll see why this has people calling it one of the year’s best films. Check out the trailer here…

From visionary director Robert Eggers comes THE NORTHMAN, an action-filled epic that follows a young Viking prince on his quest to avenge his father’s murder. With an all-star cast that includes Alexander Skarsgård, Nicole Kidman, Claes Bang, Anya Taylor-Joy, Ethan Hawke, Björk, and Willem Dafoe.

The Northman is out now in the UK and opens in the U.S. on April 22nd 2022.
