The trail runs cold for Jodie Foster in True Detective: Night Country trailer

April 12, 2023 by Matt Rodgers

There are many reasons to get excited about the long overdue return of True Detective, none more so than the fact that Jodie Foster will headline the fourth instalment of the anthology series, and Tigers Are Not Afraid writer-director Issa López has taken over showrunner duties from series creator Nic Pizzolatto.

A series of True Detective wouldn’t be the same without giving Jodie Foster’s hard-nosed detective someone to butt heads with, and so Night Country does so in the form of boxer and actress Kali Reis (Wind River: The Next Chapter). Together they set out to investigate the mysterious disappearance of eight men who vanish into the treacherous Alaskan night. Check out the trailer below…

When the long winter night falls in Ennis, Alaska, the eight men who operate the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanish without a trace. To solve the case, Detectives Liz Danvers (Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Reis) will have to confront the darkness they carry in themselves, and dig into the haunted truths that lie buried under the eternal ice.

True Detective: Night Country will stream on HBO Max sometime in 2023
