This Is the Police II comes out on bail

August 1, 2018 by Andrew Newton

THQ Nordic and Weappy Studio have released their police strategy sequel This is the Police II earlier than planned.  Originally slated for a release tomorrow This is the Police II brings a new location, a new sheriff and a new gameplay mechanic providing an entirely different policing experience to that of the original game.  A release trailer for the game can be seen below…

This is the Police II takes players to the cold frontier town of Sharpwood to follow the journey of new sheriff Lilly Reed. Reed is very unlike Police Chief Jack Boyd and her role is certainly different to that of Boyd’s in the big city of the original game.  Lilly Reed is not so overburdened with the red tape and bureaucracy so will be able to provide direct control of her officers during dangerous and difficult missions.

As with the first game, This is the Police II is a mix of adventure and management genres, however, police officers are no longer treated like a resource but are individuals with their own strengths, weaknesses, fears and prejudices. During particularly dangerous call outs the game will switch to a new turn based combat mode that will see players having to guide their officers into advantageous positions and make arrests, although, make the wrong decision and the police officer’s life could be jeopardised.

This is the Police II is available now for PC, Linux and Mac and will be coming to Xbox One, PS4 and Switch later this year.
