Tintin Reporter – Cigars of the Pharaoh gets October release on Nintendo Switch

August 9, 2024 by Andrew Newton

Microids and Pendulo Studios, along with Tintinimaginatio, have announced that the Nintendo Switch version of Tintin Reporter – The Cigars of the Pharaoh will be arriving on 17th October.  This new version will include lots of new features that will be coming to the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC as an update.

Inspired by one of Hergé’s classic tales, Tintin Reporter – The Cigars of the Pharaoh takes players on an adventure with Tintin and his canine companion Snowy.  While cruising the Mediterranean Sea, Tintin meets Professor Sarcophagus who tells him about the legend of the tomb of the Pharaoh Kih-Oskh.  Intrigued by the mystery, Tintin sets out in search of it and after passing through Egypt and Arabia until eventually coming across a gigantic drug trafficking network that has spread throughout the East.

As players progress through the rich story filled with twists and turns, they will need to search rich and beautiful environments to find clues and solve enigmas with the help of investigation dialogues. With strong dialogue, immersive video sequences and fast-paced gameplay, players will become every bit as good a reporter as Tintin.

The new version (and the update for other platforms) will include a new sequence with Tintin on horseback, a new gallery of characters for players to enjoy, and the Tintinologist mode that will enable players to learn many anecdotes about Hergé’s world throughout the journey.

Look out for Tintin Reporter – The Cigars of the Pharaoh coming to Nintendo Switch on 17th October.
