Toby Kebbell rules out Doctor Doom return, unless it’s as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe

March 3, 2017 by Gary Collinson

A few days ago, writer-producer Simon Kinberg suggested that 20th Century Fox isn’t quite ready to give up on Fantastic Four, although the studio is only likely to move ahead with another movie should they be confident that “we get it 100% right”.

While Fox and Kinberg aren’t quite ready to rule out a sequel to 2015’s box office disaster, actor Toby Kebbell has revealed that he has no interest in return as Doctor Doom should Fantastic Four 2 movie ahead.

“I won’t be in it,” Kebbell told HeyUGuys. “Truth is, Doom is an incredible bad guy. They just keep trying to force him into the Fantastic Four. They just need to move it out because he smashes up Thor and Iron Man and they get wasted. Doom is a monster, but my Doom was not, so that is that.”

However, much like Hugh Jackman and Wolverine, it seems the lure of the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be enough to tempt Kebbell back as the villain: “Yeah, if they lend him out like a footballer. They do with Spider-Man.”

Of course, it’s hugely unlikely that if Marvel would stick with the same cast if the Fantastic Four does ever end up as part of the MCU, so it looks like we’ve seen the last of Kebbell’s Victor Von Doom.
