Tom Hardy teams with director Gareth Evans for Netflix’s Havoc

February 20, 2021 by EJ Moreno

The Raid’s Gareth Evans is back with another new film, and he’s bringing along with Tom Hardy. Evans will write and direct Havoc, a crime thriller for Netflix. Tom Hardy will star, and he’ll produce alongside Ed Talfan and Aram Tertzakian.

The Hollywood Reporter notes that in Havoc, we’ll see Hardy “play a bruised detective who, after a drug deal gone wrong, must fight his way through a criminal underworld to rescue a politician’s estranged son while unravelling a deep web of corruption and conspiracy that ensnares his entire city.”

Havoc will begin production in June, filming in his home country of Wales. Evans filmed a 2018 horror movie, Apostle, in Wales. The filmmaker is also known for directing the Indonesian martial arts movies Merantau, The Raid, and its sequel, The Raid 2. His most recent project was in 2020 with the Gangs of London series releasing on Sky and AMC.

Tom Hardy will next be seen in Venom: Let There Be Carnage. The film was originally set for release last October but will release instead on June 25th, 2021. Hardy last appeared in Capone, the polarizing crime thriller from director Josh Trank.
