Ultraman gets animated with trailer for Netflix’s Ultraman: Rising movie

Netflix has debuted the first trailer for the upcoming animated feature Ultraman: Rising during its annual virtual event Geeked Week.

Directed by Shannon Tindle, the film follows baseball superstar Ken Sato as he returns to Japan to take on the mantle of the superhero Ultraman, and his journey as he tries to balance unexpected parenthood, the Kaiju Defense Force and his new role as Earth-defending hero.

“Ultraman follows baseball superstar Ken Sato as he returns to his home country of Japan to pick up the mantle of Earth-defending superhero Ultraman. He soon finds more than he bargained for when he’s forced to raise the offspring of his greatest foe. Ken must go on a heroic journey, balancing parenthood, his estranged father, and the relentless Kaiju Defense Force to rise beyond his ego and discover what it truly means to be Ultraman.”

Ultraman: Rising features the voice talents of Christopher Sean, Gedde Watanabe, Tamlyn Tomita, Keone young, and Julia Harriman.
