Video Review – Disclosure Day is Steven Spielberg’s Best Modern Film

June 10, 2026 by EJ Moreno

EJ Moreno with a review of Disclosure Day…

For all he’s done for filmmaking, it’s safe to say the last decade or so of Steven Spielberg’s career has seen some highs and lows. Thankfully, Disclosure Day thrusts the iconic director back into his rightful spot as one of the most thought-provoking and profound minds of our time. In what is easily his best modern film, Spielberg elevates his cast to out-of-this-world heights with Emily Blunt giving one of her best turns yet.

Disclosure Day forces you to ponder serious questions while still delivering the signature Spielberg filmmaking that makes this tough medicine go down. If you were on the fence about seeing this, book that IMAX ticket ASAP because this rips when you see it in a crowded cinema. During my in-depth review of the film, I look at what makes it feel so fresh while also finding out what keeps it from becoming the masterpiece it almost is.

“If you found out we weren’t alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you? This summer, the truth belongs to eight billion people. We are coming close to … Disclosure Day.”

A meteorologist and a cybersecurity expert find themselves at the center of a movement to expose the government’s cover-up of extraterrestrial secrets.

The cast of Disclosure Day includes Josh O’Connor, Emily Blunt, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, and Colman Domingo.

Disclosure Day arrives in theatres on June 12th.
