Where was Micro in The Punisher season 2?

January 24, 2019 by Samuel Brace

Showrunner Steve Lightfoot has commented on the whereabouts of Micro in The Punisher season two, as the character was completely absent.

In season two of The Punisher, the character Micro, who played a main role in the first season, was nowhere to be seen. Portrayed by Ebon Moss-Bachrach, David “Micro” Lieberman was Frank’s closest ally through much of the season and one would have thought that would continue in season two.

The character doesn’t turn up at all, however, leading many to wonder just where he could have been. Giving his thoughts on what Micro was up to during season two’s events, showrunner Steve Lightfoot told ComicBook.com:

“You know my answer to it, and it’s partly because he’s still alive there and I would love to go revisit him. I sort of, and this maybe just my own dark heart, I sort of feel like he tried the marriage, and after everything he put his family through, it didn’t stick. I always feel like when we find him again, he’ll be some sort of bathroom in a pool of spilled whiskey, waiting for Frank to come pick him up and put him to work again.”

In response to being asked if he thought Micro went back to hacking, Lightfoot said: “Yeah. I think, because, look, it’s like any of these characters, Micro who’s happiest home with his family. There isn’t a lot of story to tell for him, but I think a Micro who is living underground, and using his skills, and part of the underworld, is a great character to go back and find.”

Were you disappointed not to see Micro in season two? Let us know if you would like the character back if season three ever happens…

Former marine-turned-vigilante Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) has been living a quiet life on the road until he suddenly becomes embroiled in the attempted murder of a young girl (Giorgia Whigham). As he is drawn into the mystery surrounding her and those in pursuit of the information she holds, Castle attracts a new target on his back as new and old enemies force him to confront whether he should accept his destiny and embrace a life as The Punisher.

The second season of The Punisher is streaming now on Netflix and sees Jon Bernthal returning as Frank Castle alongside Ben Barnes as Billy Russo, Amber Rose Revah as Dinah Madani, Jason R. Moore as Curtis Hoyle, Josh Stewart as John Pilgrim, Floriana Lima as Krista Dumont, Giorgia Whigham as Amy Bendix, Annette O’Toole as Eliza Schultz, and Corbin Bernsen as Anderson Schultz.
