World of Tanks: HEAT to launch next week

May 21, 2026 by Andrew Newton

Wargaming has announced that World of Tanks: HEAT, a new standalone free-to-play tactical vehicle shooter, will arrive on 26th May on multiple platforms. This upcoming tank warfare title will provide commanders with a faster and more dynamic take on Armoured Warfare. Watch the new cinematic trailer below, featuring music by the band Biting Elbows.

World of Tanks: HEAT takes the action to an alternate post-WWII era, where players will take control of hero-enhanced tanks and work as a team to win fast-paced battles.

When the game launches, players will choose from three battlefield roles – Defender, Assault, and Marksman. Each player will command two vehicles, with each vehicle being tailored to its specific role in combat. There will be fifteen vehicles available at launch, and these can be customised with an assortment of modules and equipment.

Battles will take place over eight maps, spanning a wide range of biomes, settings and visual styles that will support multiple playstyles through the different game modes. Speaking of, there are four PvP game modes – Hardpoint, Control, Kill Confirmed, and Conquest, which will have different victory conditions.

Look out for World of Tanks: HEAT arriving on the 26th May on PC (Wargaming Game Center and Steam), Steam Deck, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and NVIDIA GeForce.
