World of Warships: Legends’ May update brings Japanese Cruiser line, Roman Empire event and more

May 1, 2024 by Andrew Newton

Wargaming’s hit naval warfare console and mobile MMO World of Warships: Legends is preparing to launch their May update onto the war-torn seas. With the May update players can look forward to Japanese Light Cruisers, a new campaign and much more.  See more in the new update video below…

This May in World of Warships: Legends promises to bring plenty of excitement to commanders with a new Eastern Horizons campaign with a nice reward at the end, a new Roman Empire themed event, complete with ships, camouflages etc., the arrival of Japanese light cruisers in the Tech Tree and the new free Bureau Project to research.

The Eastern Horizons campaign is an epic campaign spanning 80 milestones with the final reward for those with active Admiralty Backing being the Pan-Asian Tier VIII destroyer Lüshun.  This vessel is armed with deepwater torpedoes that are more stealthy than regular torpedoes.  If you want this vessel, you have a mere 4 weeks to complete those 80 milestones.

The Roman Empire arrives this month with a new in-game event that will take commanders to the time of one of the greatest empires the world has ever seen.  There’s plenty of missions for players to carry out, which will earn them a special event-themed currency – Denarii.  This currency can then be used to unlock a variety of themed items, including camouflages, a Gladiatrix Commander guise and the Italian battleship Centurion.

Players will also be able to access the new Italian Tier VI cruiser Francesco Ferruccio through random bundles.  Plus, the Italian Legendary Tier heavy cruiser Venezia will be in the Research Bureau. This warship features fifteen 8-inch guns, a high cruising speed and strong armour.

Fans of Japanese vessels will be pleased to hear that the line of Japanese Tier IV–VIII light cruisers has left Early Access and is now available for commanders to research in the Tech Tree.  The Tier VIII Takahashi is the might of this line and commanders can earn a special permanent camouflage by completing a special mission. This line of light cruisers have rapid firing guns and turning torpedoes, making them perfect for pushing forward without going all out.

The May update also brings two new seasons of Ranked Battles with fast-paced combat in 5v5 matches in a Tier VI or a Tier VII. Commanders will also have two Brawl seasons, Brawl 17 will require Tier VII battleships with deactivated main batteries, while Brawl 18 will be Tier VI cruisers with boosted stats.

Get ready this May for new vessels, more action and more excitement.
