Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S get release date, official pricing

September 9, 2020 by Gary Collinson

With the next generation of video gaming fast approaching, Microsoft has officially announced that its Xbox Series X and newly-confirmed Xbox Series S consoles will launch worldwide on November 10th, with pre-orders open from September 22nd.

The Xbox Series X – the more powerful version of the two new consoles – will be priced $499 / £449, with the all-digital (and less powerful) Xbox Series S retailing for $299 / £249.

Microsoft has also announced that, in an effort to make the consoles available to as many gamers as possible from Day One, the Xbox All Access programme is being expanded to twelve countries.

The Xbox All Access programme offers both consoles, along with full access to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, for $34.99 / £28.99 per month over 24 months for the Xbox Series X or $24.99 / £20.99 a month over 24 months for the Xbox Series S.

Launch games for the new generation of Xbox will include Gears Tactics, Tetris Effect: Connected, Dirt 5, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Watch Dogs: Legion.

What do you make of the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S pricing? Will you be picking up one of the consoles, or are you leaning towards PS5? Let us know your thoughts on our social channels…
