Emma Stone and Yorgos Lanthimos are seemingly a match made in cinematic heaven, and now the Poor Things pair are heading to Cannes.
Earlier in the day, the 2024 Cannes Film Festival line-up was unveiled. Only months after winning Best Actress at the Oscars, Stone is taking another prestige film to the most prestigious festival. This will all happen ahead of the set release date of June 21st this year.
Lanthimos has helmed Kinds of Kindness, a thrilling new romp with an all-star cast that includes Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, and Hunter Schafer. Check out the latest teaser below…
The film is a triptych fable, following a man without choice who tries to take control of his own life; a policeman who is alarmed that his wife who was missing-at-sea has returned and seems a different person; and a woman determined to find a specific someone with a special ability, who is destined to become a prodigious spiritual leader.
The cast includes Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau, Joe Alwyn, Mamoudou Athie, and Hunter Schafer.
Kinds of Kindness is in theaters June 21st.
