Yvette Nicole Brown says the Community movie “is coming”

April 14, 2021 by Matt Rodgers

Ever since Greendale Community College closed its doors after 110 episodes and with half of the “six seasons and a movie” promise delivered, there have been rumours of a feature length film to complete Community‘s mantra. The latest cast member to discuss the potential of a Spanish 101 reunion was Yvette Nicole Brown, who told Variety that “I think it’s coming”.

Brown, who played Shirley Bennett on the show, started by revealing that cast were still in touch with one-another on a daily basis, saying “We have a reunion every morning. We have a group text that is popping. We joke and laugh with each other randomly. You never know who is going to start it — it may be a joke somebody has or it may be some fan art somebody got — but we always check in with each other daily. The movie? I think it’s coming. I don’t know when, [but] I know we all want to do it and that’s half the battle.”

Admittedly the final season was a huge disappointment, but when Community was at its peak, few shows could challenge it for the laugh quota. Let us know whether you agree, and if you’d like to see the return of Jeff, Britta, Abed, Annie, Shirley, Troy, and Dean Pelton by heading to our social channels @FlickeringMyth…
