Zack Snyder sets The Fountainhead as his next film, still producing Wonder Woman 2

June 2, 2018 by Gary Collinson

It seems that Zack Snyder is gearing up to get back behind the camera, with the Watchmen and Justice League director revealing on the social media site Vero that his next project will be an adaptation of Ayn Rand’s 1943 novel The Fountainhead.

As the above tweet notes, Snyder had been developing the Afghanistan war drama The Last Photograph as his next film, but it seems he’s now had a change of heart and has now turned his attention to The Fountainhead, a project he first discussed as a possibility back in 2016.

The Fountainhead follows Howard Roark, an individualistic young architect who refuses to compromise his modernist vision in order to appease the architectural establishment. It was previously adapted for the big screen back in 1949, with Gary Cooper portraying Roark.

Meanwhile, although question marks remain as to whether we’ll see Snyder back in the director’s chair on any future DC Extended Universe movies, he has also confirmed that he remains involved in the DCEU in a producing capacity on next year’s as-yet-untitled Wonder Woman sequel.
