Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead to undergo reshoots, Tig Notaro replacing Chris D’Elia in cast

August 16, 2020 by Gary Collinson

Zack Snyder’s upcoming zombie action thriller Army of the Dead is set to undergo reshoots, with THR reporting that Tig Notaro (Star Trek: Discovery, Lucy in the Sky) is set to replace Chris D’Elia (You) in the Netflix movie following the recent allegations of sexual harassment and grooming made against the latter.

Army of the Dead wrapped filming late last year and Snyder has been working on post-production on the film during lockdown. Given production and travel restrictions as a result of the pandemic, and the fact that much of the cast have moved on to other projects, a variety of methods will be used to incorporate Notaro’s scenes, from filming opposite stand-ins to shooting against greenscreens and using digital technology to blend her into the footage.

Back in June, D’Elia was accused of sexually harassing and grooming underage girls, allegations he has firmly denied. Nevertheless, he has been dropped by his agency, and Netflix has also scrapped plans for an unscripted TV show.

Army of the Dead revolves around a team of mercenaries who venture into a zombie-infected Las Vegas to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted. Dave Bautista (Stuber) leads a cast that also includes Ella Purnell (Sweetbitter), Omari Hardwick (Power), Tig Notaro (Star Trek: Discovery), Hiroyuki Sanada (Westworld), Raul Castillo (Vida), Nora Arnezeder (Origin), Matthias Schweighöfer (The Manny), Samantha Win (Wonder Woman), Rich Cetrone (Thor) and Garrett Dillahunt (Fear The Walking Dead).
