Paul Walker guarantees Fast & Furious 8

November 19, 2013 by admin

The Fast & Furious franchise isn’t going to die. Paul Walker confirmed this yesterday when he “guaranteed” Fast & Furious 8 before the SEVENTH addition to the franchise has even complete filming. When asked by Collider whether Diesel and himself would return for any future instalments, Walker responded: “Well, the studio supposedly want 8, 9, and 10. I’ll be 50. Even if 7 were to tank, there’s at least an 8. That’s a guarantee.”

Of course, for those that remember, following the third film The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, the franchise was all but dead, and Walker confirmed this before Diesel  rescued it: “Neither Vin nor I were going back to do the third one. They were going to do a direct to video 4 but then Vin was like I’ll come in because it wasn’t testing well. It was supposed to be one but we got a second life.”

Fast & Furious 7 is currently in production under director James Wan (The Conjuring, Insidious: Chapter 2), with a cast that also includes returning stars Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris alongside new additions Kurt Russell (Death Proof), Djimon Hounsou (Guardians of the Galaxy), Tony Jaa (Ong Bak), Nathalie Emmanuel (Game of Thrones) and Ronda Rousey (The Expendables 3). Meanwhile Jason Statham (The Expendables) will also reprise his cameo role from Fast & Furious 6 as the villain Ian Shaw.
