Jeremy Irons says the Batman vs. Superman script is not yet complete

March 12, 2014 by admin

With Batman vs. Superman rumoured to have already commenced filming, it will come as a surprise to hear that the script for the upcoming Man of Steel sequel remains incomplete, with Jeremy Irons – who is set to portray Bruce Wayne’s trusted butler and father figure Alfred Pennyworth – telling Absolute Radio that, “The script isn’t entirely finished. I’ve read a script [but] I think it’s not finalised yet.”

Irons then went on to offer some praise for Master Bruce, a.k.a. Ben Affleck, who’ll be playing The Dark Knight alongside Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel in the Zack Snyder-directed sequel: “I think [Affleck’s casting] is a wonderful idea. He’s a lovely man and an interesting actor. I’m looking forward to getting to know him. I’ve only met him once.”

Batman vs. Superman was originally written by David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight Trilogy), with Oscar-winner Chris Terrio (Argo) subsequently taking over. The film is due to open on May 6th 2016, with a cast that also includes Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Jesse Eisenberg (Lex Luthor), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Diane Lane (Martha Kent), and Laurence Fishburne (Perry White).
