Rambo 5 entitled Rambo: Last Blood

September 11, 2014 by Gavin Logan

In 2009 – shortly after the release of Rambo – Sylvester Stallone confirmed his interest in making a fifth movie in the series and earlier this year further news started to leak about the plot details and production dates. And according to ComingSoon we may now know the title – Rambo: Last Blood. Stallone has reportedly c0-written the screenplay and will also direct. The title was apparently sent over to them by a reader called ‘nopr100’, so its legitimacy is still in question with neither Stallone nor the studio giving any confirmation.

Over the years Stallone has seemingly been undecided about a possible fifth instalment, being quoted on numerous occasions that we wouldn’t ever see John Rambo on the big screen again. There were even rumours that a reboot was in the works and that Stallone would be recast citing his age as being a huge stumbling block in getting a fifth movie up and running. Various sources claimed that the reboot would be a TV project although these rumours seemed to die down fairly quickly. Originally it was being reported that Rambo 5 would be based on the novel Hunter by John Byron Huggins which Stallone had previously bought the rights to and written a script treatment for. But in 2011 Sean Hood (The Legend of Hercules) was hired to rework the first draft into something more in line with First Blood.
