Kate Beckinsale returning for Underworld sequel, TV series also in development alongside spin-off movie

October 13, 2014 by Gary Collinson

Back in August it was reported that Lakeshore Entertainment is developing a spin-off to the main Underworld series, which was later revealed to be titled Underworld: Next Generation. Now Underworld and Underworld: Evolution director Len Wiseman has told IGN at the New York Comic Con that another sequel is in the works, which would see Kate Beckinsale returning as Selene.

“There’s a few things that are being developed right now. There’s some characters that we really like that’s kind of more of a spin-off of some of the characters like we did with Rise of the Lycans, and another film is being developed with Kate possibly as well, and then there’s a television series as well. So it’s all kind of expanding that universe.”

Asked which would arrive first, Wiseman responded by stating: “You tell me. Everything’s in development.”

Are you excited about the prospect of an expanded Underworld universe? Let us know your thoughts…
