DC’s Geoff Johns on the possibility of an Aquaman movie

July 20, 2013 by admin

There’s a lot of excitement at the moment as rumours swirl around the internet that Warner Bros. is about to announce its plans for a live-action DC Movie Universe – consisting of a World’s Finest feature in 2015, followed by The Flash in 2016 and Justice League in 2017 – and now DC’s Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns has weighed in on the possibility of the King of Atlantis getting his own solo movie.

“I’d love to see an Aquaman movie,” Johns tells MTV. “I think he’s a terrific character. People know him. The world is amazing. Working with Ivan Reis on [the Aquaman comic book] and later Paul Pelletier, the visuals are exciting. The characters are exciting. There are creatures. Ninety percent of the oceans have never been seen by human eyes. Most of our threats come from space, but I also think that having threats come from the deep sea would be great to see.”

Of course, should these Justice League rumours prove true, chances are we’ll be seeing Arthur Curry making his big screen debut when Warner assembles DC’s Greatest Heroes in 2017…
