Anthony Daniels lets slip C-3PO return for Star Wars: Episode VII

October 16, 2013 by admin

Over the past year we’ve had an absolute blizzard of speculation surrounding potential casting on Disney and Lucasfilm’s upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII, with virtually every actor in Hollywood linked to the film alongside persistent rumours about the likes of Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan Kenobi), and Ian McDiarmid (Emperor Palpatine) making their return to a galaxy far, far away.

So far we know absolutely nothing about J.J. Abrams’ plans for Episode VII, but if any previous characters are to return (which seems highly, highly likely), then you can bet your bottom dollar that R2-D2 and C-3PO will be right at the top of that list Well, Threepio himself Anthony Daniels appears to have confirmed as much during the New York Comic Con, with Film Buff Online quoting Daniels as stating, “Yes, I am the only actor to be in all seven because I feel…” before quicky backpeddling with, “Six! Whatever.”

So not really a surprise at all, but it looks like Threepio will be back… unless Daniels is counting 2008’s Star Wars: The Clone Wars, of course.

Star Wars: Episode VII is set to go into production in January ahead of a release some time in 2015.
