Paul Giamatti confirms Rhino return for The Amazing Spider-Man 3

October 4, 2013 by admin

On Wednesday, it was announced that Sony has tapped The Amazing Spider-Man 2 screenwriters Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Jeff Pinker to pen the third instalment of the studio’s rebooted Spider-Man franchise, and now Paul Giamatti has confirmed that he’s set to return as The Rhino in The Amazing Spider-Man 3, adding fuel to the already rampant speculation that Andrew Garfield’s wall-crawler is set to find himself going up against the Sinister Six in 2016.

“I think I’m only doing the next movie [The Amazing Spider-Man 3], I don’t think I’m in the next-next movie [The Amazing Spider-Man 4],” Giamatti told IGN, before playing down any knowledge of the Sinister Six: “They’ve not told me hard and fast about that.”

Before The Amazing Spider-Man 2, there’s the small matter of the second movie, which is set to swing into cinemas on May 2nd, 2014 with returning stars Garfield, Emma Stone (Gwen Stacy) and Sally Field (Aunt May) joined by franchise newcomers Jamie Foxx (Django Unchained) as Electro, Dane DeHaan (Chronicle) as Harry Osborn, Chris Cooper (American Beauty) as Norman Osborn and Felicity Jones (Like Crazy) and Colm Feore (Thor) in as yet unrevealed roles.
