Bryan Singer debunks alien rumours for X-Men: Apocalypse

December 9, 2013 by admin

Potential X-Men: Days of Future Past and X-Men: Apocalypse spoilers ahead….

Bryan Singer had barely hit the tweet button on his big reveal that X-Men: Apocalypse is set to hit cinemas in 2016 before several websites popped up claiming to have the inside scoop on plot details, most notably a report about the end credit sequence of X-Men: Days of Future Past setting up the next film by having an alien Apocalypse crash landing on Earth from outer space before “merging” with Michael Fassbender’s Magneto.

Now, it seemed odd that plot details were being revealed for a film that took everyone by surprise with its announcement, but if Singer is to be believed, the report appears to be little more than speculation anyway. Taking to Twitter again, Singer has put fears to rest over an updated origin for the 5000-year-old mutant, stating that “Apocalypse is not an alien. :)”. However, it should be noted that Singer doesn’t debunk the whole Apocalypse / Magneto merger, so it’s possible that there is some truth to the after-credits sequence. I guess we’ll find out when X-Men: Days of Future Past opens on May 23rd, 2014.
