Danger Mouse returning to TV for new series

June 17, 2014 by Gary Collinson

The much-loved British children’s show Danger Mouse is set to return to TV screens, with FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment partnering up with the BBC to develop a new version of the classic series, which will air on CBBC.

“When I helped to create Danger Mouse I had no idea the show would be such a huge success both in the UK and overseas,” said Brian Cosgrove, co-creator of the original show. “I am delighted that a whole new generation will be introduced to his daring deeds and thrilled to be part of this new 21st century series. I can’t wait to find out what he’s been up to for the last 23 years.”

Cosgrove will serve as consultant on the new series, which will run for an initial 52 episodes. As yet, there’s no word if David Jason will return to voice Danger Mouse, nor who will take over from the late Terry Scott as his sidekick Penfold. However, both characters will be getting a 21st century revamp, with Danger Mouse’s signature eye-patch being replaced by an “iPatch” containing state of the art technology.

Are you excited that Danger Mouse is returning to TV?
