Vin Diesel is teasing fans about Marvel’s The Inhumans again

August 10, 2014 by James Garcia

Long before Vin Diesel landed the role of Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy, he circled a potential Marvel movie role for quite some time, and left cryptic clues on his Facebook page for fans to dissect. He was rumored for roles like The Vision, Thanos, and Black Bolt, the leader of the Inhumans.

Paul Bettany playing Vision in Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Josh Brolin is playing the Mad Titan Thanos, but as of right now the role of Black Bolt is wide open. Sure, Marvel hasn’t officially announced that The Inhumans was happening, but Kevin Feige has often stated that it’s a property they would like to adapt, and after Guardians of the Galaxy‘s staggering success, the prolific studio may want to expand their reach into the cosmic side of the MCU and help bridge the gap between now and Guardians of the Galaxy 2‘s 2017 release date.

Diesel took to Facebook today to thank fans for their support of Groot, and left one more cryptic tease for fans:

The question here is, why capitalize “Inhuman?” It’s a very deliberate choice on Diesel’s part, though whether or not he’s actually circling a role, or is merely having a bit of fun is up for debate.

In the comics, Black Bolt is the ruler of the Inhumans, a race of superhumans from the Blue Area of the Moon. He has the powers of flight, super strength, molecular manipulation, and most importantly the ability to trigger a powerful electron-harnessing power with his voice. Because of its destructive force, Black Bolt refrains from speaking and vigorously trained so that he would never mutter a word without meaning to. We know from his time playing Groot and from voicing The Iron Giant that Diesel isn’t opposed to roles where he doesn’t have to say much, and frankly they’re sometimes when the actor shines the most.

What do you think about Diesel’s new status update? Do you think he’s teasing The Inhumans, or just having a bit of fun with his fanbase? Sound off in the comments below.
