Twin Peaks trailer confirms return in 2016

October 6, 2014 by Thomas Roach

It’s official. After David Lynch and Mark Frost hinted at Twin Peaks returning fans have been excited at the prospect of the cult show making a comeback. Many fans assumed this was nothing more than a tease and probably didn’t expect anything official for some time. However, the network Showtime has released the following trailer, which reveals that the show will be returning for a limited series in 2016…

This new series is a continuation and not a reboot or remake, and will have 9 episodes, with David Lynch and Mark Frost writing and producing all nine.

Twin Peaks originally aired from 1990-1991, with the film Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me released in 1992. Fans have waited a long time for the show to make a return but unfortunately we’ve got a couple of years to wait yet. Still, this official confirmation that the show is returning should be enough for fans. Let’s hope this is as good as the original series.

Twin Peaks will return in 2016 on Showtime.
