Constantine to halt production after 13 episodes, could still be renewed for second season

November 24, 2014 by Gary Collinson

NBC has made the decision to cease production on Warner Bros. Television’s DC adaptation Constantine after its initial 13 episode run, although Deadline is reporting that there’s still a chance the network could pick the show up for a second season.

Constantine enjoyed a fairly solid rating with its premiere, but dipped considerably with the second episode. Nevertheless, ratings have since been building week on week in its Friday night slot, and NBC is also said to be impressed by strong DVR viewing figures.

The show, which has been created by Daniel Cerone and David S. Goyer, becomes the first of Warner’s new wave of DC TV shows not to be picked up for a full season, with both Gotham and The Flash receiving full season orders from FOX and The CW respectively.

Are you disappointed that we’ll only be getting 13 episodes of Constantine, and would you like to see it picked up for a second season? Let us know your thoughts…
