Tony Kebbell calls new Doctor Doom a “very anti-social programmer”, reveals he is not Victor Von Doom

November 11, 2014 by Anghus Houvouras

The new Fantastic Four reboot has been clouded in mystery. Very few details have leaked and there seems to be a lot of curiosity around this new, younger skewing version of the team. Changes from director Josh Trank should surprise no one. Michael B. Jordan’s casting as Johnny Storm a.k.a. The Human Torch set off a maelstrom of debate, and now we have some details around the new Doctor Doom courtesy of the man himself, Toby Kebbell (via Collider)

“He’s Victor Domashev, not Victor Von Doom in our story,” states Kebbell. “And I’m sure I’ll be sent to jail for telling you that. The Doom in ours—I’m a programmer. Very anti-social programmer. And on blogging sites I’m ‘Doom'”.

So instead of the master scientist, dark arts dabbling, Lord of Latveria, we’re getting Doctor 4Chan? The more I hear about the new Fantastic Four, the more morbidly curious I become. What do you think?

The Fantastic Four is set for release on August 7th 2015, with Josh Trank (Chronicle) directing a cast that includes Miles Teller (Divergent) as Mr. Fantastic, Kate Mara (American Horror Story) as the Invisible Woman, Michael B. Jordan (Fruitville Station) as the Human Torch, Jamie Bell (Nymphomaniac) as The Thing, Toby Kebbell (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) as Doctor Doom, Reg E. Cathey (The Wire) as Dr. Storm, and Tim Blake Nelson (The Incredible Hulk) as Harvey Elder.
