Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles returns to the top of the UK box office

UK box office top ten and analysis for the weekend of Friday 31st October to Sunday 2nd November 2014…

After being knocked from the top spot by Fury last week, the live-action reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles returned to the summit of the UK box office chart this past weekend, pulling in £1.43 million to take its total haul on these shores to £11.77 million after three weeks on release.

Three newcomers managed to crack the top ten, with Ouija scaring up £1,373,907 over the Halloween weekend to claim third place, while Nightcrawler earned £1,003,822 to take sixth ahead of Mr Turner, which pulled in £904,947 in seventh.

2. Ouija, £1,373,907 weekend (New)
3. Fury, £1,246,990 weekend; £5,609,870 total (2 weeks)

5. The Book of Life, £1,056,274 weekend; £4,022,383 total (2 weeks)
6. Nightcrawler, £1,003,822 weekend (New)

The big release this week is of course Christopher Nolan’s hotly-anticipated sci-fi epic Interstellar (cert. 12A), while other newcomers include Say When (cert. 15), The Skeleton Twins (cert. 15), The November Man (cert. 15), Set Fire to the Stars (cert. 15) and Leviathan (cert. 15).
