As directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett gear up for production on the film, we’re starting to get word on the supporting cast set to feature alongside the returning trio of Brendan Fraser, Rachel Weisz and John Hannah in the fourth instalment of Universal Pictures’ action-adventure franchise The Mummy.
As reported by Deadline, Michael Johnston (Obsession) and Numan Acar (Young Sherlock) have been cast as as-yet-unrevealed characters, while Kevin J. O’Connor will reprise his role as Beni Gabor from the 1999 original alongside Oded Fehr, who played Ardeth Bay in the first two films.
Meanwhile, John Hannah has also revealed that Imhotep himself will also be back, the actor telling Italian magazine CiaK (via Dark Horizons) that: “Arnold Vosloo, a very good friend of mine, will also be returning; he is currently finalising the agreement from Cape Town, where he resides.”

Much like its centrepiece villain, plot details for the new Mummy film are being kept under wraps, but it is expected to pick up the story directly from 2001’s The Mummy Returns, ignoring the events of the 2008 sequel The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, which saw Mario Bello replacing Rachel Weisz in the role of Evelyn. Production is expected to begin this month ahead of an October 2027 release.
