Jennifer Lawrence tops Hollywood’s highest-grossing stars of 2014

Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence has capped another fantastic year by securing the honour of being the highest grossing star of 2014, with her movies X-Men: Days of Future Past and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 earning a combined $1.4 billion in box office receipts.

Chris Pratt claimed second place with $1.2 billion from The LEGO Movie and Guardians of the Galaxy, followed by Scarlett Johansson (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Lucy and Under the Skin) in third with $1.18 billion. Here’s the full top ten, via Forbes…

1. Jennifer Lawrence – $1.4 billion
2. Chris Pratt – $1.2 billion
3. Scarlett Johansson – $1.18 billion
4. Mark Wahlberg – $1 billion
5. Chris Evans – $801 million
6. Emma Stone – $764 million
7. Angelina Jolie – $758 million
8. James McAvoy – $747 million
9. Michael Fassbender – $746 million
10. Hugh Jackman – $746 million

So, no place in the top ten for last year’s highest-grossing star Dwayne Johnson, with his sole release Hercules pulling in just $243.4 million.
