Paramount identifies director shortlist for Star Trek 3

December 15, 2014 by Gary Collinson

It seems that Paramount Pictures has wasted little time in the search for a new director on Star Trek 3 following Roberto Orci’s decision to step down from the helm, and despite the best efforts of a fan campaign to #BringRikerIn, Jonathan Frakes is absent from the shortlist…

According to Deadline, the studio has already met with Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes), although Morten Tyldum (The Imitation Game), Daniel Espinosa (Safe House), Justin Lin (Fast & Furious 6) and Duncan Jones (Source Code) are all on Paramount’s shortlist. Initially, it was also though that Edgar Wright (The World’s End) was in contention, although he’s absent from this latest list.

Who would you like to see directing Star Trek 3 from those names above? Let us know your thoughts…
