Shazam movie will exist within the DC Cinematic Universe

December 26, 2014 by Gary Collinson

Back in November, Dwayne Johnson cast some doubt about whether the upcoming Shazam movie (which will see him starring as Black Adam) would exist within Warner Bros.’ wider DC movie universe, tweeting that it was a co-production between New Line and Warner, and throwing in the hashtage #independence.

However, it now seems that we have confirmation that the Shazam movie will indeed take place in the same continuity as Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and the rest of Warner’s DC slate, with the DC Blog posting a year-end wrap-up which includes the following:

“For fans who were hoping to see a DC Cinematic Universe similar to what they’ve seen from other publishers, one that included super heroes other than Superman or Batman, there didn’t seem to be a lot to talk about. That changed on October 15, 2014, when Warner Bros. revealed a full slate of ten DC Entertainment feature films all set within the same universe.”

So, I guess that’s settled now…
