Dwayne Johnson teases that Shazam movie will be independent from other DC films

November 6, 2014 by Thomas Roach

We’ve known for a while now that Dwayne Johnson will be playing the villain Black Adam in Warner Bros.’ Shazam movie, which is set to land in 2019. Back in September, New Line producer Toby Emmerich suggested that the Shazam movie could be seperate from Warner’s DC Cinematic Universe, and now The Rock seems to have confirmed that.

A Twitter user tweeted Dwayne Johnson saying:

“Unfortunately, with Goyer and Snyder in charge, DC will never make anything nearly as fun as the Fast movies”

Johnson then responded with:

“I guaran-damn-tee we’re gonna have bad ass fun w/ Black Adam. (Its a NL/DC property). #Independence See u at the junket homie.”

Do you think this confirms that Shazam will be separate from the other DC movies? And if so, is that a good idea? Let us know…
