Miles Teller wants to “kick it” with Wolverine in an X-Men crossover; has yet to see The Fantastic Four

March 15, 2015 by admin

We’re still a few months away from the release of Josh Trank’s The Fantastic Four, but we’ve already heard the news that its sequel (announced before the first movie has hit cinemas) has been pushed back by a couple of weeks to avoid the buzz over Star Wars: Episode VIII. There has also been some talk, both for and against, doing a crossover movie with X-Men, whose rights are owned by 20th Century Fox.

“I would love to kick it with Wolverine,” Miles Teller told MTV News, adding that he’s heard no plans of a crossover movie. “I don’t know what we would talk about, but…”

There has also been some talk of The Fantastic Four deviating away from the source material, but Teller has said that he delved deeply into the Ultimate Fantastic Four series to prep for the role. “We were looking to kind of put our stamp on it,” he said, confirming the cast were told to steer clear from reading the comics. “We were looking to pay respect to the history of the characters but to bring them up to date.”

The Whiplash star also added that he’s yet to see a cut of the movie (but producer Matthew Vaughn has). “You should have some laughs in there,” he said. “You want to see some enjoyment and The Thing better say ‘It’s clobbering time'”

THE FANTASTIC FOUR, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.

The Fantastic Four is set for release on August 7th with Josh Trank directing a cast that also includes Kate Mara (American Horror Story) as the Invisible Woman, Michael B. Jordan (Fruitvale Station) as the Human Torch, Jamie Bell (Nymphomaniac) as The Thing, Toby Kebbell (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) as Doctor Doom, Reg E. Cathey (The Wire) as Dr. Storm, and Tim Blake Nelson (The Incredible Hulk) as Harvey Elder.
