Colin Farrell joins Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them

August 5, 2015 by Scott J. Davis

The Hollywood Reporter has this evening broke the news that True Detective star Colin Farrell has signed on to join the Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.

The actor, who has most recently been seen in the second season of the hit HBO show, will join Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything), Katherine Waterston (Inherent Vice), Ezra Miller (Trainwreck),  Alison Sudol (Dig) and Dan Fogler (Kung Fu Panda) in the new film, produced by Harry Potter producer David Heyman.

Farrell will play Graves, a wizard that Newt Scamander (Redmayne) meets in New York. The story, written by J.K. Rowling, tells of Newt’s adventures in the secret community of witches and wizards as he attempts to document magical creatures.

Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them opens on November 16th, 2016, with David Yates directing.
