Deadline is reporting that Frank Whaley (Pulp Fiction, The Following) has become the latest addition to the cast of Marvel’s Netflix series Luke Cage.

Whaley – who appeared in a guest role in the first season of the DC series Gotham – is set to play Detective Scarfe, a character who made his first comic book appearance back in 1975’s Marvel Premiere #23 where he was a former partner of Misty Knight and ally to Cage and the Heroes for Hire.

Luke Cage will get underway next year, with Mike Colter (The Following) as Luke Cage, Rosario Dawson (Daredevil) as Claire Temple, Theo Rossi (Sons of Anarchy) as Shades, Alfre Woodard (Desperate Housewives) as Black Mariah, Simone Missick (Ray Donovan) as Misty Knight, Mahershala Ali (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay) as Cottonmouth and Frank Whaley (Gotham) as Detective Scarfe.
